WORK-IN-PROGRESS
Mapping a Distressed Canvas

An interesting project in which I have deliberately warped a canvas to create concave shapes within it. Today I am mapping the these concave shapes with the intention highlighting them with colour.

Watch this space, this is just the beginning…

Working towards an exhibition at: City Arts Space April/May (dates to be confirmed).

A CHILDHOOD LANDSCAPE
work in progress

A Childhood Landscape is the title of this work in progress which is very close to my heart. Being the 10th of 12 children made for quite a childhood and provided many memories, most of them happy. Although we were as poor as church mice in many ways we lived a life of abundance. Thanks that is, to our parents who were extremely resourceful and imaginative. Qualities which have expressed themselves differently in all of us. Whichever way you look at it, it is an unmistakable trait of The Wilson Family as is an undeniable streak of eccentricity. Traits which I have often relied upon to get me through life and are of course very useful to an artist. I am forever grateful for the gifts that being part of this family have bestowed upon me.

FLOATING PAINTING

  work in progress.IMG_6367This work measures 2.20M  x 1.4M (7′ 2″ x 4′ 6″) approx.

Although the painting is blocked in, there is still a lot of mark-making to be done before it is finished.   Ultimately a batten will be fixed to the top of the work which will be hung from the ceiling.  This painting is the backdrop for three other “floating” paintings. Together these form an installation which allows viewers to literally walk through the painting.
